"Great value for money. 3 rooms on 2nd floor and 1st floor is common area with toliet, shower, kitchen, refrigerator. Traditional Japanese style room. Room is simple with matress, small ground table, A/C. Not much soundproof. No elevator & need to use stiff stairs. Host seems living in 1st floor. Use key to open/close room. Place is located on the side of small car road, not inside. Search '清舎' on google map."

Though the staff had limited English, everything was communicated well and I felt very welcomed and comfortable. "Overall property was excellent and location was great within walking distance to all the famous temples in Nara Park. However when requesting a taxi to take us back to the train station it took longer than expected and we missed our train departure. Also taxi/car is limited as the hotel is located directly in the park. Walking is faster but with heavy luggage it’s not very convenient."

Probably the smallest I've ever stayed in, but they are efficient. The menu at the restaurant is somewhat limited, but the food we ordered was good and the service was great.
