「As I had found that this property was once owned by my 3X great granduncles I was fascinated by the history and walked in their footsteps. As I descended the original, narrow stairs with the low hand rails I imagined the original women in their high button shoes and hoop skirts more gracefully than me maneuvering them daily. 「The room was exceptional. Large sitting room, large comfortable bed. Quiet. Everything was great. Not a cookie cutter room like you get in the chain hotels. The room reminded me of the rooms in old John Wayne movies. Our room would have been reserved for the governor! 」

「The one thing I will caution future guests about is breakfast. It’s one menu selection (there is no menu to choose from) for everyone every morning. So if you’re a picky eater or have lots of food sensitivities, this could be a real hassle. It is served in your room only, and delivery runs a bit on island time.
