Cheap rates, good location and very helpful staff. However, bad water leak on the bathroom floor, bathroom door didn’t close and blood on the bedside lamp. Pretty grim.

Great location being very central! Staff were very friendly and happy to help! We were a bit worried about the cleanliness having read some previous reviews, but these turned out to unfounded.

Unfortunately I had a frightening experience outside the hotel - in the absence of a night receptionist, I went outside 6.30 on Sunday morning. No one around and a car parked on red double lines opposite. It stayed there for a couple of minutes then u-turned and mounted the pavement within a foot of where I was standing. Nothing actually happened. They only stayed there a few seconds then circled round at traffic lights up the road and drove off at about 70mph. I reported all this to Reception who informed me that there was no CCTV but there was a button to call night staff. On Monday morning, I discovered this was not working. If somebody had been on Reception, I feel sure this would not have happened and I was quite unnerved by it.
