"I’ve been to Japan 5 times and stayed in many hotels, but this was by far the most expensive and smallest room I’ve had. My friend and I booked a Superior Queen (we couldn’t afford a twin) and were disappointed. While the Shibuya location—right across from the station—is excellent, it feels like the cost went into aesthetics rather than practicality. The room has nice fixtures, a large Sony TV, a great mattress, and excellent pillows (though we couldn't get extra pillows), but it’s poorly designed for travelers. There are no proper hooks or racks for towels or clothes, and when we asked for a luggage rack, they sent someone to our room to tell us to store our suitcases under the bed. The shower had great pressure but a fully transparent door, making it impossible to use other bathroom facilities privately. Lighting was also too dim for tasks like makeup, and there was no portable mirror. Amenities were minimal: cups and a kettle were provided, but no tea or coffee unless requested—and even then, not included. Cleaning costs extra (though towels can be refreshed), which feels unreasonable at this price. The biggest issue was service. Staff were often unresponsive or overwhelmed (one time they were arguing in Japanese for about 10 minutes before acknowledging us, and we were the only customers), and most requests for basic amenities were denied. The only positive service experience was during checkout, when luggage storage was handled kindly."

"This is NOT a five-star hotel. There are reviews that state the hotel is a bit outdated and needs a refresher. That is an understatement. Just absolutely misleading. It is a 3 1/2 star hotel at best. An it would be just fine for a 3 1/2 star, but this is absolutely a disappointment believing you are getting and paying for a five star hotel. "

"Check in was quick & professional. Room a reasonable size with large bed ( comfortable), mini fridge/freezer. microwave, kettle, washer/dryer. Room was quiet. Hotel located close to train/metro stations making it easy to get to attractions around Tokyo. A few dining options in the area & convenience stores. A good hotel within the Tokyo area & quieter than the usual tourist areas such as Shibuya or Shinjuku. I enjoyed my 5 night stay at Tokyu Stay Takanawa "

"location is very convenient, especially when you need to travel to Tokyo station and Haneda airport. But condition is a bit old, especially the lift and doors. The lift door did not sense I am getting in and the closing doors knocked over my hot coffee. No daily cosmetic/skin care kit provided like other hotels in Japan. Room door making sharp squeaking noise when closing. Beds are comfortable. "

"Location is right across from the train station making it easy access to get around town. We took a cab to the hotel from the airport and it took maybe half an hour and paid approximately 45$USD. Rooms are standard Japanese small, but has all essential amenities and mini fridge. There’s a 24hrs convenience store a ramen shop around the corner from the hotel. We had the hotel breakfast for $15USD and was satisfied. Hotel also has coin laundry and spa. "

"The breakfast was not a traditional "western" type breakfast... meaning the scrambled eggs were very runny, the meats they had available were not hot. The yogurt and fresh fruit was tasty, but as far as protein, not a lot of choice. It was spring and the heat worked great! The staff was very polite!"
