"We had a really enjoyable stay at Royal Park Canvas Kyoto Nijo and would happily recommend it to anyone visiting Kyoto. The location is a standout — being right across from Nijo Station made getting around incredibly easy, whether we were heading out to explore temples, markets, or different neighbourhoods. It’s such a convenient base, especially if you’re only in Kyoto for a short time. The room itself was comfortable and well-designed, although just a little on the smaller side — which is fairly typical in Japan. Everything was thoughtfully laid out, and the shower was absolutely amazing — easily one of the best we’ve had during our travels. The provided pyjamas and slippers were also a really nice touch and added to the overall comfort of the stay. We also really appreciated being able to leave our luggage at the hotel after check-out on our last day. It made things so much easier and allowed us to enjoy a few more hours exploring without having to drag our bags around. The only downside for us was the check-in and check-out experience, which is fully automated. While we understand this is becoming more common, it did feel quite impersonal. Personally, we prefer interacting with staff — especially in a hotel brand that promotes exploration and adventure. It would have been nice to have team members more readily available to welcome guests and offer local tips or recommendations on what to see and do. That said, overall this is a great hotel with a fantastic location, "

"Best bathtub! After climbing to the top of the Fushimi Inari a soak was in order and this hotel delivered. Bath salts included! The king size room was lovely with floor to ceiling windows. Great location, easy to walk out or to get to transit. "
