"Amazing hotel with a vibrant young staff. The rooftop bar serves excellent cocktails, and the restaurant is also top-notch – definitely a highlight of the stay. However the atmosphere created by American tourists were noticeable. A certain amount were very loud and lacked consideration for others, which affected the overall very elegant ambiance. As an European traveler seeking a quieter or more cultured environment this might be a downside."

"Really nice hotel with fairly spacious room for Japan. The entrance and lobby area is lovely. Short walk to goju station only 1 stop from Kyoto, and easy walk to Gion with loads of bar and restaurant options. Great lounge in the basement with complimentary drinks and snacks and beautiful onsen and gym also. Only downside was the breakfast was quite expensive with not a huge selection compared to others on my trip. I would like to see more fresh fruit available. Otherwise my stay here was really perfect."
