very impressive stay in Florence

We had a very pleasant stay in Florence. The room is very very comfortable and feels like staying at home. We also liked the breakfast provided by Mr. Simpson. And he also gave us a lot suggestions from the date we booked the hotel till the last day we left. I would highly recommend this B&B to my friends.

Anyone looking at this unit NEEDS TO KNOW the ONLY way to get to the one bathroom is up a narrow, spiral staircase. The listing should clearly state this, but it does not. Also, the unit is on the third floor and there is NO ELEVATOR. The listing does not clearly and prominently reflect this fact. Gianna is very nice and by European standards the room is nice, but the room was not at all appropriate for our family due to the narrow, spiral staircase bathroom trips. It was very precarious, especially when sleepy in the middle of the night. I would not stay here again.

Spiral Stairs to Bathroom

The room was clean and spacious. Gianna was a joy to talk to. The room just needs to be updated, which I believe she is planning soon. The bathroom was clean and shower was actually quite large, but to get to it you need to go up a spiral staircase, this is probably not an issue if you’re younger, but getting up in the middle of the night to use it was difficult without waking my partner. Overall I would rate the room average, pretty quiet, and clean. Easy check in and friendly host.

We loved staying at Gianna's for our visit to Florence - it's perfectly located, super clean and very comfortable for our family. Gianna was a delight - super helpful and great tips. And the breakfast... even my picky eater son LOVED the breakfast. Delicious and fresh food. HIGHLY recommend staying there and when we come back to Florence, we will stay there again.

Gianna was very welcoming and helped us with any questions including dining recommendations. The only thing we found a little inconvenient was the bathroom location. It was on the upper floor of the bedroom. We had to use a very tight spiral staircase in order to go, which is importan to know especially for people with mobility difficulties.

We were horrified by our stay. Although the owner was nice, she should not be using her home as a B&B. We had to carry our very luggage up 4 flights of stairs. Okay… but to use the bathroom, climbing up a winding spiral staircase that one’s foot cannot fit on the step is unacceptable. The house itself is over 500 years old.. that’s cool, but it’s also very unsafe. My husband and I are in good shape, and had a very hard time with our luggage and getting to and from the bathroom. The room is also on a very noisy street.

Comodo y recomendable

El lugar es excelente y super recomendable. Comodo y amplio. No recomendable para personas con movilidad reducida, ya que se deben subir 2 pisos por escalera, y a su vez, el baño se encuentra arriba mediante una escalera estrecha. Es un espacio dentro de una vivienda, en donde te reciben muy bien. Si bien el lugar se llama B&B (Bed & Breakfast) y hay algunos comentarios antiguos que dicen que hay, el servicio de desayuno no está incluido. Buena ubicacion, muy cerca de todo. Pese a la diferencia de idiomas, nos trataron muy bien y nos sentimos como en casa. Volveriamos y lo recomendariamos.

Hosts were wonderful and friendly. Fresh fruit in my room each day was a nice touch along with crackers/cookies. They have tea bags and a hotpot to heat water with along with a french press for the coffee lovers. Only word of warning is the bathroom is on the second floor of the suite and is accessible by a spiral staircase. Anyone that has concerns about going up/down narrow stairs should consider this, but it was no problem at all for me and I'm 6'2". Highly recommend for anyone that wants to stay in Florence and be a short walk from the center of the City.

Cosy stay in Florence

Wonderful location close to everything in Central Florence. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. The host was very helpful, kind and accommodating. The street is peaceful in regard to people and tourists for being in the middle of Florence. Car traffic was a little bit loud in the mornings.

It was a fantastic place to stay in Florence. Spacious, clean with great service. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. The location is central but on a quiet street.

Gianna is an amazing host, gave us tips on how to get to places, what to see, supermarkets, laundry, etc. She was also super detailed when asking for our breakfast preferences (delicious and extremely punctual every every day, even when we had to wake very early). The room is spacious with a double bed, and a "mezzanine" with a single bed and the bathroom (bit of downside depending on your conditions). It also contained an amazing little library with art books, suspense, romance, etc. The location is good, it takes a ~10 minute walk from Santa Maria del Fiore, so it is a bit away from the noise of the city center, but also a bit far from restaurant choices. Street can be a bit noisy at times too, but nothing egregious. I've docked a few points from my review, because we were without hot water during our entire stay due to a problem with the water system, that was out of the hosts hands to resolve, but it soured our experience a bit. Regardless, Gianna was graceful when dealing with this issue and I thank her for that.

This was the best place ever!! Great location, close to everything and safe. The room was so cozy and has everything you’ll need! Much better than a hotel. The owner went above and beyond for us, and was so useful! We will definitely stay here again.
