"Clean room, friendly staff, easy parking, easy check-in. Outside of room is a bit dingy (hallways need some renovations). Door is not sealed properly, bugs get in (I killed 3 stinkbugs as soon as I got in the room and then shortly saw 2 more). Needs weatherstripping"

"The Gin Hotel is a beautifully refurbished "Grand" Hotel in a small Virginia town. Located on Main Street in downtown Lexington, it is two blocks from Washington and Lee University and five blocks from the Virginia Military Institute. Lexington's Main Street has been reinventing itself each year over the fifty-five years since I graduated from W&L and it is now populated with unique shops, craft stores and restaurants. The hotel is quiet, clean and well maintained. Unlike when I was in Lexington in the late 1960s, the town is ringed with the usual collection of mid-level hotel chains. These are all fine hotels but ones like these can be found in virtually every town in the US. Staying in historic downtown Lexington (for the same price) is so much more fun!"
