The kitchen area was well stocked with dishes and utensils and was nice to have available. AC worked well in the rooms and it was a relief to have the option to cool off at the end of each day. And while not a nightly occurrence, having howler monkeys howling the first evening really set the tone to remind me I wasn't in California. No air conditioning, a horrendous access road, and overpriced mediocre food with zero alternatives due to the remote location. Most importantly — we lost a canoe and were left stranded on the other side of the river. The resort had no staff available to retrieve us. A neighbouring resort rescued us free of charge while Mystic River prioritized finding their canoe over stranded guests. They charged us...
