"Amazing location, peaceful views, cool design. Rooms are tired, time to renew them. The staff is super friendly, but some rules make the service are a bit inconvenient (like three restaurants, all of them opening at 7pm! Open one at 5pm, for families, since there are three of them!)"

"Great breakfast. Great food altogether. They were a bit odd about when we could access the beach. It was closed from 12 to 3. Which was weird but other than that a great place."

Beautiful setting and location. This place is fantastic with a relaxing atmosphere, great service but not overdone, with a sense that you are more of a guest at a home stay. The food is really great and they will help you and your partner celebrate a birthday or other event, but not a place to go and party down if that’s what you want.

A peaceful nature retreat with incredible fresh food.
Our stay at Kalu’s Hideaway was a wonderful experience from start to finish. We loved the wholesome farm-to-table dining—tasting fresh red dragon fruit straight from the garden, sweet pineapples, mangos, and delicious Sri Lankan vegetables.
The property itself is surrounded by nature. The butterfly garden was an unexpected treat, and waking up to the tranquil morning sounds of birds overlooking the Udawalawe reserve canopy was magical. You...

One of the best hotels that my family and I have stayed in. We have used a lot of different hotels throughout the world and Shangri La Colombo ranks one of the best we have stayed in. Even with all the difficulties SL is in now, the hotel staff saw to our comfort without any complaints. I salute the staff and management for their gracious hospitality. Thank you!

We had a wonderful stay at this property. I cannot think of anything we did not like. The location is beautiful, the room was fantastic, the food amazing (quality, variety and presentation), and the staff kind, professional, and efficient. We were welcomed and sent on our way by Dilshan. All waiters at the restaurant were wonderful but we would especially like to acknowledge the service of Chinthaka. Spent my birthday at Villa Shade. Mr. Shiraj, was so kind to have me checked in so early because my flight arrived in the midnight. He make sure that I am comfortable within my stay. He arranged a tuktuk to drive me around beginning and arranged ayurvedic full body massage at Jasmine Villa which is so relaxing. His staff were friendly and always smiling. A traditional Sri Lankan breakfast was prepared when I woke up which is good. Thank you for a relaxing and wonderful stay.

Few things were super impressive as follows:
1) All the staffs were so helpful, welcoming and always there for us when we needed.
2) If you prefer something that gives you a traditional vibes apart from a concrete high rise building this place is highly recommended.
3) The entire place was neat and clean along with worthy prices.
Besides these nothing was found by me which is problematic or annoying.
Long story short,I liked staying there.
