「A huge family room with vaulted ceiling, with lots of space. However, it had almost zero ventilation apart from a tiny window, stained carpets, tatty headboards, very old mattresses and exposed wiring. It really felt like a forgotten room though it was advertised as ‘Superior’. Food and bar was ok and the pool was fine, but again, needed some TLC. It was a cheap stay but hoped for slightly better.」

「Garner Hotel is a great location, easy access off the main road and close to extra dining options. Comfortable room, good value for money. Friendly professional staff.」

「As a place to stay it was okay. There was no restaurant as it is being renovated, luckily there was a good Indian restaurant virtually opposite. Parking is £3 per 24 hours unless included in your booking. Breakfast was okay but mainly carbs. Would I stay there again probably not」

「Staff on checking in were polite and dhowed us toom and facilities. Room was small , clean but personally it wasnt eorth the price we were charged. Booked breakfast but was informed it wasn't available until 8.30am and ee had to leave earlier than that do even thought id osud extra gor breakfast and fid inform thrn upon arrival, we werent offered reductions.」

「Overall a good stay, however there were issues with staff shortages in the dining area in the evening. Also the food quality was definitely not as good as it has been in the past which was a shame. Breakfast staff were excellent, but on one of the mornings there were no pastries, fresh fruit etc. Otherwise great breakfast.」

「Overall we had a lovely stay, only thing we thought was a bit disappointing was the main bar didnt open till 4pm on the sunday but the lady on reception at 1pm went above and beyond and sorted us some drinks so we could sit and relax in reception.」

「Bathroom had a good shower Worse thing about this hotel was the let down on the key card wouldn’t open door every time we went out If had been by myself I would have been very very worried we tried everything one lady from reception brought up a machine to try it BUT next morning back to square one. I was disappointed as it was for me to try this hotel for me to come by myself when I come back to Barnsley to visit my family」

「Excellent location in the centre of the village with dedicated parking spaces for each room. Friendly staff serving a good choice of food and drink in the bar and a really good breakfast. Would definitely stay again.」
