"The property was larger than expected and a bit of a maze to get around but the staff was friendly. Many travelers left their trash outside their doors which was unfortunate and the rooftop terrace was smaller than expected plus the pool closed at 6. Overall a great location, very walkable to all we wanted to get to."
"The location was very convenient, across the train station.
The room was very clean but when we opened one of the drawers we found a bunch of men underwear and socks. Kinda disgusting.
In the bathroom the bar supporting the shower constantly falling off, the hotel needs some TLC
The rest was good . Kudos for offering 2 extra pillows!"
"The staff was accommodating, and the location was amazing. The beds were clean and comfortable, and the shower temperature and pressure was good.
However, our room had a sewage scent immediately upon entering that did not abate. I will still give this location 4 stars because the staff moved me to a new room when I alerted them to the issue. Upon reading other reviews and researching online, I think that the sewage smell was from a drainage issue that is common in old buildings in Florence—it was not a cleanliness issue on the hotel’s part."
"We had an overall wonderful experience at Hotel Calimala. The rooms were gorgeous, and clean. The staff was friendly, and helpful . The rooftop bar was spectacular and we loved Nadini, the daytime manager, who was a lovely, impressive person. She added immensely to the wonderful experience we had. We hope to come back to Florence some day. We will be sure to stay at Hotel Calimala when we do!"
