「The Browns Canyon Inn is a great little hotel inside Salida. The front desk assistant, Kathy, was very cordial and helpful. The breakfast was surprisingly extensive for an inn this size. My only minor disappointment was the age of the mattress. You can tell that they have seen their better days. But overall, my wife and I enjoyed our stay at Browns Canyon Inn. Would definitely recommend it to others.」

「I liked this motel. Friendly genuine staff. Felt like nothing was too much trouble. In the room there were two folding luggage stands stored on brackets. The bathroom was tight but adequate but I thought the gentle night light was a great feature too often overlooked by so-called top end hotels meaning I wasn’t blasted by a bright light in the middle of the night. Bed very comfortable. 」

「The gentleman that checked me in was very pleasant and accommodated my service dog. Not the newest place in town but very clean and I felt safe as a female solo traveler staying there. Great location and for the $ it is well worth it. Have a beautiful indoor pool but only open 3-10 so if you have kiddos that may be a negative. For me it was a perfect place along my travels. 」

「I loved the mountain hiking we could walk right up to from our porch. We got to explore the mountain without an exact trail, and it was easy to find our way back to camp. I also loved that there was a gas stove, a gas grill, charcoal grill, campfire pit with an affixed grill, and a gas fire pit...so many options for cooking and sitting by a fire to make staying out in nature easier and more relaxing.
