「Brilliant two nights at The Fig Tree Shanklin. Highly Recommend! First evening, after Dinner at The Steamer Inn down on the Shanklin Esplanade, we caught the lift back up from the Esplanade and walked to The Fig Tree to experience their Monday Open Mic Night which was good fun and we were given accompaniment instruments to join in the funas well as singing along. 「We stayed at the Ropemaker for five nights and thoroughly enjoyed the hotel and its restaurant. We had a lovely king-size bed that was very comfortable. The room had a portable air conditioning unit that kept it very cool, which we appreciated. However, it is noisy at night. The outdoor bar area is super cute and has little cabanas that seat about 4 guests. We'll definitely stay here again.」

「So glad to have discovered this place- off the main roads. The whole experience was great- staff were lovely, dogs were made welcome too! Like stepping into an Agatha Christie movie, beautiful furnishings of an era in history.
