Location was the best thing about our stay, the actual room was more of a place work people stay, very basic and definitely over priced and the parking permits are a bit of a joke as you have to find streets with certain post code and the hope there a spot

Cheap and cheerful lovely friendly helpful staff clean room. parking was a big issue for me as had to pay £5 and them find a street that would let me park on which was a bit away from the hotel itself

While born and bred in Pompey for 19 years, I returned to my hometown as a tourist to show a friend around. Therefore, I knew of the Lady Hamilton's excellent location and I was pleasantly surprised that the "partial sea view" from the window was an excellent full view of HMS Warrior-stunning at sunrise. No noise disturbance from the pub or street and stairway means not having to go through pub; didn't drink in pub, as they had run out of London Pride real ale, but a proper local pub if you want the authentic Portsea. The Lady Hamilton is a stones throw from the dockyard (maritime museum) and the range of restuarants at Gunwharf; recommend Giggly Squid and Tap and Tandoori - has lovely vegan options .Also, a delighful 15 minute walk to Old Portsmouth-Spinaker cafe good place for breakfast and opens early. I would definitely stay here again and recommend; very comfortable bed, clean, great shower, location and view! Only thing that would have been a good thing to have in the room is a peg in bathroom for towels, though did have radiator to hang on. Although HMS Victory covered over for renovation, still a fascinating visit and The Mary Rose musuem is out of this world and a must see.

Breakfast Menu had a good selection with choices of cereals, yogurt, fruit, small pastries, toast with selection of jams or a cooked breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful check in and check out was fast and efficent. The room was clean and comfortable and the b and b is in an excellent location with everything in very short walking distance.

The breakfast was excellent but wasn't at the Lady Hamilton it was 2 doors down. The double room was tiny, more suited to a single room. There was a very small space between the wall and the bed and care was needed not to nudge the kettle on the way past. No space for furniture although a hanging rail and a few shelves were behind a curtain. There was a stool. To exit the property there was a steep staircase and a fire door that shut behind you. You had to be quick to get out of its way. The bar was 2 doors down where all the staff were lovely.
