"They gave me the wrong door code for my room; if I hadn't met someone from the same room, I could have been stranded. The lockers don't work. If you turned the actual face of the code part, it would open the door; you didn't need a code. No night lights for navigation, so the room light was on all night. No towels clearly made available - had to grab one from the front desk. No clear place to return them or the slippers. Had to ask someone where to find the slippers in the first place. The...

"We stayed in a private room with private bathroom, which I believe they have plenty despite the name "hostel." The place is really well organised with clean shared kitchen and living room downstairs. The bedroom is very clean and the shower room has a separate door for toilet. Guests that we met were polite, clean, and quiet, making it very...

Taroko Susi Space

Xincheng

10/10 Excellent

Great place to stay at in Xincheng. I happened to get here and the host came by to greet me and check me in. She was very helpful in providing me with info on Taroko and where to eat and what to do in Xincheng. I didn't see her after check in though. The hosts seem to only appear sometimes during the day. It was a great stay for the price and location. It made seeing Taroko very easy. I would stay here again

Bayhouse Comfortel Hualien Hostel

Hualien City

10/10 Excellent

Far beyond my expectations, convenient to everything, quiet (except for the inevitable train passing noise).super clean no odd smell at all, and the backpackers seem to be nicest people ou can find too. It's economic yet comfortable stay, i couldn't find any reason to complain now that i paid $22 for a big room with a king bed table and chair and private bath and walking distance to the train station

Encounter Hostel

Hualien City

10/10 Excellent

Encounter Hostel was GREAT!! I would definitely stay again! The place was about a 7 min taxi ride and it was clean, big, and airy. Four people stayed and we had nothing but praise for this place. The owner, Mr. Wang and his employees went out of their way to accommodate us. He even helped us with our other problems at our different hotels, staying on the phone with us (we speak very little chinese) and even bargaining prices for us! You don't get that just anywhere!

A modern room with a large window, a bed, a sofa, and a small table.

Lantian Baiyun homestay - ID number：112

Hualien City

10/10 Excellent

It is a very nice home-stay hotel. The owner/manager put great effort on helping guests enjoy staying at this place. In the living room, they provided a lot of travel information and maps about Hualien, Taiwan. The proper manager responsed messages very quick and helped guests beyond his duty. The bedroom was designed very cute. Private bathroom is large and nice. Internet is fast. A bonus we did not know until arrived: it is located right next a beautiful rive, we had nice walking after dinner....
