「Very nice place, just basic and old-fashioned. Great for self-catering. All amenities - esp A/C - worked well (no hairdryer). Bed very comfortable. Easy 20 min walk distance to Festival theater and 30 to the others. Close to shopping.」

「EXTREMELY OVERPRICED The building is extremely old and has not been updated. Old AC units Bathroom and sick were dirty. Windows dirty...I would definitely not recommend」

「Staff was friendly during check-in and check-out, very quick, too. The room was large and clean. Beds were queen sized. There was a microwave and a refrigerator. Air conditioning worked well. Bathroom was updated. Shampoo and soap, and hair dryer were provided. Location was excellent, on the road out of town, and 5 minutes from downtown. The one improvement I would like to see is a coffee maker in the room.」

「Check in is the issue should be a check in at 2 pm check out at 10am. Way too late for a check in. Been here 2 times loved it they accommodate as much as possible. Check in is the only issue for us.」

「The Ashwood Inn is a lovely place to stay in Central Huron. It’s very close to Grand Bend, Goderich and Bayfield. Many of the best beaches on Ontario’s West Coast are just minutes away. I would highly recommend staying here as the rooms are spacious, it’s very quiet, and the staff were very helpful.」

「I was a little nervous about the “no check-in desk” (only emailed codes for the main entry and room doors) but it all worked out fine. The room was decorated interestingly. The scent of the soap/Shampoo was not for us, but the staff came minutes after we emailed them to remove it. Coffee shop is great. Location can’t be beat. Owner sat out on the porch one day chatting with guests. Friendly guy!」

My experience this time:'s'' 1. the front desk staff was nice enough, noted that while staff was attending to me; the other staff was more receptive to the guests, offering additional information about the property, offering arm bands so guests did not have to come back the next day, and overall explaining. 2. Property has gone down hill. My husband has golfed here in the past; now does not open until 09:00, the T's are not well maintained, nor are the...
