Found the rooms to be extremely warm with no way to turn down heat. Opened windows but then very noisy since on a busy road. Hotel room also needs repairs. Many stains on the bedroom carpet. Checkin also challenging. Consistently was not sent info for the second room I reserved including room number and pass code.

I was in room 4, Queen main floor. It had two windows that opened to a inner wall which was perfect for me. I could have the windows open, fresh air and no worries of people. The room was bright and very comfortable for my week stay. The staff checked in everyday but other than that I saw no one. Perfect for the antisocial/ want to be left alone type traveler. The hotel itself is a 5 minute walk to anything worth going to. Things to be expected for this older building with character is: you can hear people above you, so if that's a problem take something on the top floor. The water take 3 minutes to heat up so turn in the tap as you're getting ready for your shower. There is no staff on site so make sure you make any requests during their daily routine in the morning(they are fast at getting it done for you). Will definitely stay again.

There were know staff. It’s a do it yourself place. You get in using a lock. There’s a very nice small sitting are. You have to walk up a flight of steps. We had a room with a small sitting area. It’s meant to look old I think because floor boards are very old looking, and other aspects were dated. If you’re looking for something of old Stratford I think this would be good

This was a perfect little heritage style room Excellent location as it is walking distance to downtown Stratford Room was clean quaint and easy access with codes to get in We did speak to a Staff member before we arrived and she was extremely helpful plus parking was literally beside the hotel Loved it and will stay again

The hotel itself was lovely, clean and quaint. When needed getting assistance was easy and quick. However, the layout of my room was convoluted, there was no where to turn on the fireplace and no instructions to figure out how. And, my shower amenities - shampoo, conditioner, body wash and cream were all nearly empty. They were excessively heavily scented and each bottle had a buy me for $50 in a label in the bottle. I found this not only quite tacky for such a beautiful building but why would anyone pay $50 for a bottle of shampoo, and one that was half empty? 3/5 is accurate. Would I stay again? - yes. Would I recommend? - no.!

Room was clean. No staff on site, so self-check in and out. Only problem was no usb port for phone charging. Espresso machine was a nice touch.

The hotel was nice and quiet. We stayed in a junior suite. The only thermostat was in the living room beside the fireplace and the gas fireplace was the source of heat for rooms; this meant the bathrooms and bedroom were quite chilly. The bedroom was so cold that our infant had to sleep in his snow suit. Our five year old managed okay because he was old enough to safely use blankets. I’d return with the kids when older, but not with a baby again.

The room was super clean, quaint, had lots of character and was comfortable. There was a bit of a challenge turning the TV onto cable, but patience and a couple of calls to the front desk as the hotel that managed this one sorted things out. Would stay here again.

I tried to upgrade to a suite for 3 of our 4 nights. Neither the hotel nor Expedia could make that happen. That was a frustration. The online check-in was cumbersome. The location was very good as was the parking.

I opted for "virtual check-in" and was told I'd receive codes to open the front door and room door. Even after phoning the night before, no codes arrived. The front door WAS open when we arrived but no staff. Another couple said they'd been waiting 20 minutes. After waiting more than 20 minutes I snagged a chambermaid for assistance and she took us to our room. The next morning three other couples said they had the same experience of waiting a long time before someone appeared to offer help. If it wasn't for Terri (the chambermaid) I don't know what we would have done. The check-in experience definitely needs big improvement (and Terri deserves a big raise... she appears to be the only person on site).

We had a "no contact" check-in, which was new for us but went smoothly, with the key codes for the hotel entrance and our room emailed to us a couple of hours before check-in. The hotel was clean and neat; it's an older building with character. Traffic on Erie St. can be noisy at night, but the hotel provides earplugs. The continental breakfast buffet was simple but satisfactory. Lots of restaurants nearby and just short walks to Stratford Festival venues.

Virtual check-in was very easy and convenient. The property was responsive to communication and included complementary refreshments in the lobby and room. The room was very cozy and perfect for a night between shows

The room was cute and delightful and incredibly clean. The extras (complimentary water and pop in the mini fridge, candy and trail mix in the lobby, etc) were all wonderful touches, as was that the room actually had a kettle for my morning tea! Add little things like the lovely balloons, cookies, and birthday note for my wife; the soft music playing in the room when we arrived, and it was just a great experience. We will 100% be staying here again!
