10/10 Excellent
"We booked this hotel because: 1. It was convenient to the Days of 47 rodeo grounds 2. It was convenient to sites in downtown Salt Lake City 3. It was convenient to public transportation 4. It came VERY highly rated This is a new (2024) hotel that is adjacent to and a part of the old Union Pacific Railroad Station. A cool old station that opened in 1909 with high ceilings, murals at the end, stained glass windows (railroad themed), a bar and check-in. The staff was first rate; friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The hotel portion is semi-circular with slightly curved room walls (which I liked). Unfortunately, our room overlooked the station, so our view was non-existent. The room is on the larger side of most hotels, with a couch, king size bed, closet and chest of drawers. The bathroom was it's own separate area. Walk in and a night light illuminated under the single sink. Large shower and a separate toilet room finished it off. Standard amenities (soap, lotion, shower supplies) were included and thick towels! The bed was very comfortable! The room was very clean (as should be expected for the cost). The bad: south of the hotel are a lot of homeless people (which surprised me). They kept to themselves, but something to be aware of at night. The bathroom is all black, including the light switches - hard to see The restaurant/bar don't take cash. Parking - expensive valet or you walk a block to public. Overall - a great hotel!"
