Easy 20-25 min travel to University of Utah and 10-15 min to downtown. Airport is 10 min away. Trax is very close and convenient for public transportation.

The Natural HIstory Museum at the university was very interesting. A lot of information on Native American heritage, and a multilevel exhibit of dinosaur bones, and wonderful pictures of Yellowstone National Park. Plus, you could watch restoration staff working.
The activities there were great fir the convention
Loved the Red Butte botanical garden on campus.
Public transportation (Trax) was easy to use and we purchased the group pass for all day travel.
Take an Uber or Lyft ride... easier. The Maya exhibit through the beginning of May is wonderful. And the dinosaur exhibit as well School kids arrive around 11am and leave at 1pm, quieter
