「Had a lovely weekend stay here in November, the place is charming and has a lot of character. The room was large, clean , well furnished and there was everything you needed , I also loved the view and that you could look out and see the thatched roof . Check in was easy , all the staff we met over the weekend were very welcoming , friendly and helpful so it made you feel very relaxed. New management had just taken over when we stayed , I was really happy with stay here and would recommend it. 」

「What an absolute treat The Red Lion is. I went of pervious reviews and it didn’t disappoint. In fact it exceeded my expectations, what a gem of a place. The Staff were simple amazing, David and Jasmine were fantastic and always on hand of we needed anything. The rooms are so comfortable and modern, the Breakfast was fabulous and the food in the pub was outstanding. Manor Farmhouse - Trent Grade II listed detached farmhouse, dated 1660, with a range to the rear of the C18, and with C20 restoration. The owner told me the main property was originally thatched, as many such houses were, traces of which were found in the roof void (note the parapet at the gable ends to contain the thatch). In more recent times, the thatch was replaced with Welsh slates, the stone tiles at the bottom of the roof being retained. Stone tiles were mostly used here in Dorset just at the eaves, where the load bearing supporting walls could take their weight.
