We thoroughly enjoyed our two-week stay at Puerta Azul in July 2022. Talia and her staff were always helpful and friendly. Puerta Azul was an ideal place to relax and unwind, as it was located in Sandy Bay away from the busy resorts and cruise ship traffic. The property was small and isolated in a residential area of the island. It was on the beach with a long dock best suited to watch the fabulous sunsets. Our room was spacious and comfortable. This place was fantastic! It had everything you needed so you wouldn’t need to go off property! The owners were very communicative via WHATS app and made check in super quick so we could start enjoying our vacation. The food and drinks were awesome. Definitely will stay here again on our next trip! A huge shout out to all the staff as they were very warm and called us each by our name .. we felt at home.

This was our second stay. Both times were wonderful. The staff is very attentive and friendly. We tried several things on the menu at the restaurant during our two week stay and found that everything is prepared with fresh ingredients and looks as good as it tastes. The restaurant staff filled our insulated cups and ice bag with ice every day.
The cleaning staff have the place shining. It always smells clean in the common areas.
The front desk staff were also great helping us get...

This was my first time here but won't be my last! Beautiful room without the noise of a big hotel..I loved my beautiful private balcony and the staff are wonderful! I even ran into the bartender off duty and she came up to me.. Super pleasant and let me know if my group wanted to join them or needed anything.. Now that is great customer service!

Great experience. Staff very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. Rooms are mostly beach front, recently renovated, clean and have balcony. beautiful view. Was a little disappointed that the beach was not sandy but rocky, but realized reef and sandy beach close by and could walk forever and snorkel right there. Town 5 mins walk with lots of restaurants, water activities and shops. Rented a car which was great to see the beautiful island. A lot of poverty but never felt unsafe....

This was my 5th stay at Splash Inn. I have never had any bad experience at this hotel. The whole staff, from reception to restaurant is very friendly and helpful and remembers you. The room was always cleaned to perfection and smelled great. Some improvements have been done over the years as I had a safe in the room. The property is very well maintained and clean. The location is right in the center of all the scuba shops and restaurants. The water taxi is right up front. I only had breakfast at...

Stayed for 11 nights & the location is perfect. Anything you need is within walking distance. Only negative was the “step down”, when exiting the toilet. I didn’t have the light on & crashed into door frame, first day. Bloody arm that needed a lot of neosporin & bandaids. Would definitely stay there again.

The hotel is very nice, right in front of the beach. It has a lot of treas and is quiet. Very convenient location, the kayaks are free to use for guest. I did have an incident were I was charged $8 more than it was supposed to, I told the manager, and she reimbursed me that money. Overall I was very pleased with the hotel and do recommended to other travelers.

My wife and I chose this hotel as we were looking for an affordable one. At first I was skeptical because the hotel was rather new and there were no reviews posted whatsoever by when we booked around ending March. But it was a pleasant surprise when we got there start to finish. The staff was very friendly and helpful, our room was well kept and clean and I loved the fact that there were the "essential" elements in the bathroom like shampoo and soap. Overall I would definitely recommend this...

This hotel is everything! Our room was as beach front as you can get and we loved mornings and evenings on the patio. I can’t say enough good things about the staff. Every single person, including the owners of the property, were so welcoming and friendly…even the 24-hour security guards (we never felt unsafe the entire time on the island but it was just a little peace of mind). The food was very good and the chef was happy to accommodate my food allergies with swaps. We are already looking to...

.I arrived at Upachaya in a state of mental and physical exhaustion. This is a fabulous place to unwind and de-stress. I curled up on the porch for two weeks and spent most afternoons simply reading and/or writing. I enjoyed falling asleep listening to the tree frogs and the men fishing in the bay. Barb, the owner, is friendly, helpful, and very accommodating. If you want a tour or transportation, she will make arrangements. If you want to stop at the grocery store for cheese,...

From the Minute we were greeted at the airport, we felt special. We were picked up on time and driven to our hotel where We were given a welcome drink and shown to our room. The hotel surpassed our expectations as we weren't sure about the location from the map. We had a room with an amazing view of the water and sunsets. It was a 3 min walk in either direction to get to the beaches and the local restaurants were all within an easy walk. we could also walk to Gumbalimba Park and one of the...

Great property, beautiful location. I would say that they would need to allow some form of partnership with a taxi company or private service for those who want to be out past 10pm when the shuttle stops. I love that the staff will book excursions for you and allow you to make the most of your experience. I do think there is room for an all inclusive for the guests. Although I still paid separately to try each of the restaurants, I think there should at least be an option.
