"This is a hard one to review. The property was overall clean, pool was very nice, kids enjoyed the rec room (shout out to Carlos). I feel the staff was fantastic. All worked extremely hard. I've honestly never felt worse for the beach cleaners as i did there. A losing battle with the sea weed. There must be rules against a bobcat with some sort of forks to make their job easier. I got a little off track. If you go on vacation and sit around the pool, then this is a very nice resort. Sitting along the ocean wasn't relaxing with the workers and loaders working on the seaweed. We have a 12 and 9 year old that love to snorkel and this just wasn't the location. There was a spot at the akumal resort but it wasn't great. Maybe it's ok but when comparing to other resorts the kids were bored. The only other complaint was the buffet. It just seemed like it was the same thing every night. All 4 of us really enjoyed the truck though (quick bite food)! The Brazilian restaurant was very good. The indian was ok but nothing to brag about."

"Very clean room, we had a junior suite. Bathroom door is a shuttered door, not a solid door. There were no wash cloths. Only 1 hand towel and 2 bath towels. These are minor issues. We were next to our pool. Our room didn’t look over the pool or ocean but it is a quiet resort. Staff are wonderful and food was great. Many different restaurants to choose from. You need to book specialty restaurants 1-3 days ahead. But still all inclusive. It was a great vacation."

"Pools and splashpads were excellent and fantastic for toddlers and children up to early teens. Easy to see and keep track of everyone. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Food was great"

"Staff ard location were amazing but the property is extremely outdated and the food overall was below average. Small buffet with the exact same items for breakfast lunch and dinner. Long waits for sit down restaurants but food was a little better. We likely would not stay at this property again but would stay in the area. "

"We loved the resort. It looked like it had recently remodeled. All the furniture and decor in the buffets and restaurants looked new. The food was amazing! The outdoor sunset bar area was huge and a great way to relax before air after dinner. So many options for drinks, ice cream, coffees! The room was clean and well appointed. It looked modern and fresh, guessing also a recent remodel. Not the biggest fan of the energy saving motion sensing lights in the bathroom. My daughter was in the tub and out of the range of the sensor so she was tasked with getting out in pitch black. Also, having the lights turn on full force when you get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom is quite a wake up call. That being said, the lights were our only criticism of our visit to Grand Sirenis. There were plenty of shuttles to take you places on the resort if you want, but you can easily get your 10,000 steps (and then some) if you love to walk like we did. There are lots of steps, so I would be hesitant to bring my very much less mobile in-law; however, if you are savvy finding elevators and using the shuttle, I think we could find solutions. Lots of pools - quiet if you like quiet, energetic if you prefer that. Lots of seats around the pools and beach. We didn't visit the beach as much as planned because of the sargassum. I think it must be a losing effort at this point of the season so except for some pushing around, it wasn't really being removed except by the member beach club. "
