Labor Day shenanigans at Lincoln Beach. Lincoln Beach served New Orleans' African-American community during the time of segregation. You have to hop the levee/fence, cross the (active) train tracks, and then find one of the the trails that leads to the water. This is a view from the outside of part of the old arcade, a lingering reminder of what used to be. Unfortunately, the whole area is littered with trash as its not maintained by the city or the railroad locality. "Room was ready when we got there 2 hours early. Clean and comfortable. Good breakfast buffet daily, nice pool outside. Pick ups out front, taxis waiting all the time, Hop On Hop Off tour bus has a stop right in front too. Easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, casinos, Bourbon St, riverfront. "
