The rooftop setting is simply magical. Walking through gardens — in the middle of winter — and then discovering the heated outdoor pool surrounded by snow was surreal. Soaking in warm water while the Montréal skyline shimmered around us felt like something out of a dream. The atmosphere balances elegance and comfort beautifully. "From check in to check out, (3 nights) the hotel staff could not have been more attentive and helpful. Especially during check in, and baggage handling. My partner and I were treated as if we were regulars or frequent visitors. The King Suite was spotless, housekeeping timely and diligent. Room service was prompt and, of course, helpful. I feel what separates perfectly fine lodging establishments from the very best is attention to overall details no matter how minor and treat the lodgers as special guests. The Fairmont Royal York one of the best, hands down."

"The room was spotless. I’ll say the property overall has a bit of a dated feel but for our purposes, it was perfect. A 3 minute walk to the Metro, an 8 minute walk to all the shopping on Sainte-Catherine and a 1 minute walk to a great coffee shop around the corner meant we made the most of our time in Montreal. The “kitchen” was great too- perfect for making tea, storing our snacks and reheating our leftovers. We’ll be staying here again. "
