「The check in staff was very warm, friendly, and accommodating. The room was very clean, and the bed very comfortable. The only issue was that the heater worked too well in my room. I had to turn the thermostat down to 60 just to be somewhat comfortable while sleeping. I did not try the breakfast so I can’t speak to it. 「The room was clean and comfortable. Front desk personnel was very accommodating. The only problem I had was when checking out, I asked for a receipt. She said I would have to get it from Expedia, they couldn’t give me one. Breakfast bar was super, everything was fresh and the pastries were warm. Coffee was hot and good. This was my third visit to this place and I was still amazed with the beauty I could see in a place like Texas. It's just 4 hours drive from Austin and 2.5 hours drive from Dallas towards East. What makes this place special is cypress trees in the lake and their beautiful reflections. You get a different flavor in each season - greens all around in spring and summer, different colors in fall and a brown cover in winters. Also, you would be in for a treat if you are a bird lover. Get up early in the morning and you could hear several birds chirping. Tips: 1. Avoid visiting this place in summer as it's still Texas and it gets very hot and humid during that time. 2. Instead of booking a hotel in Karnack town, get a vacation rental (go Vrbo) in "Uncertain" -- yes, that's the name of the place. Most vacation rentals have a minimum of two night stays so plan the trip accordingly.
