This hotel was a great location. The room was lovely and suited our family booking. Beds were comfy and bathroom was very modern. Breakfast was excellent and very tasty with helpful friendly staff. My only criticism is the check in female staff member was unhelpful and moody. When I asked if she could put a paper bag in the bin for me, she said.. No.. we don’t have a bin! The rest of our stay was excellent but the welcome wasn’t very friendly.

We loved our stay at the Thistle Bloomsbury, i would highly recommend. The room was clean, Idris was a great help an said if we needed any assistance then he would help. Gabrielle on morning we left was also very helpful. Breakfast is good, full english an limited continental, pastries, bagels, fruit an cereal. The manager told us they where having the hotel updated BUT with anywhere your going to have wear an tear an need a updating, so this is no reflection on the hotel it is well kept. The hotel smells amazing as soon as you enter, beds are really comfy. An it is in a great spot. I highly recommend you try the restaurant next door also The Shell I had a steak,chips,salad an my son had Pasta ut was delicious an reasonably priced. I would stay again an recommend this hotel its a great little hotel.

Positives first: outstanding location, reasonable rates, spotless room, comfortable bed, good shower. Negatives: decor is tired and needs refreshing. Our room's windows were very old, single-glazed, and didn't move freely (several layers of paint on old sash-and-case frames). Mildew on upper pane of the bathroom window, and a torn net curtain at the bedroom window. We only had one power socket: it was a double, but one of the outlets was already in use for the television, so we had to take turns charging phones, using hairdryer etc. Decent enough for a couple of nights, but not longer.

Location of hotel great. My room was in good condition and clean but my son’s (which had not been updated) was a bit dingy. General decor a bit faded, which will probably account for the building noises at 8am each day! Only one small lift which was out of service for a while one day. Not good when you’re on the 6th floor. Had a problem with my shower on the first day but in fairness it was sorted out quickly. So, all in all, a comfortable base at a reasonable cost in a great location.
