A very nicely furnished hotel which is centrally located in the city. Just minutes off walk to Nottinghill Gate Station. Environment was nice but upon arriving my room, there were two flies inside and I spent quite some time getting them away. I thus had to keep my window shut all the time, so it was quite stuffy inside the room. Mattress was a bit too soft too.

I chose the Abbey as it is a 10 minute walk from my work and was convenient during a week of tube strikes. First, my room was nothing like the advertised room and the bathroom is in need or a major refresh so I do feel misled. The bed was actually very comfortable. Initially the television didn’t work but was put right by a helpful member of staff. For my particular needs, it was fine. The hotel is accommodation only but there’s numerous eating places just minutes away. Top marks to the staff who were exceptional.

Noise all the time in the corridor, was woken up every morning at 6am during a holiday because people were shouting in corridors. One night at 2am, a drunk person not staying at the hotel entered and was shouting and being aggressive. Hotel staff was not effective at intervening for more than half an hour, we had to intervene ourselves and the person started to get agressive with us. I do not recommend the property if you want a peaceful stay in Notting Hill, with reasonable service

Shower in my room malfunctioned (shower head came loose from the holder on the wall while warming up) and sprayed an inch of water on the floor. Had to use all the towels to soak it up and couldn’t shower. Receptionist was apologetic and moved me into a new room, I don’t blame them for the conditions but clearly management is terrible. I was out all day and returned late night, and all I wanted was a hot shower, finally. This second shower did not even have a place to hang the shower head so I had to awkwardly squat in the tub (which was old and had filthy jets!!) and could not wash my hair. I was too exhausted to deal with it and didn’t want to move to another third room so I just went to bed. The mattress in my second room was horrible, I could feel the springs and woke up with a bruise. There were also holes in the sheets. There was a kettle and mugs for tea, in the first room the inside of the kettle was gross and one cup was soiled. I didn’t bother looking at the tea station in the second room. The rooms had “charming” old locks and keys which were incredibly difficult to maneuver. I had to put whatever I was holding down and kneel on the floor to look directly into the keyhole to get it in correctly. Staff was kind and I felt safe in the location, that is about all I can say that is positive. Don’t be fooled by the charming appearance. Never again.

Bei unserer Ankunft war der freundlichiste Mitarbeiter da die wir die ganze 5 Tage getroffen haben ,der Zimmer war ok ,nicht das was auf die Bilder gezeigt wird und alles sehr veralted. Der Gegend und Umgebung ist sehr praktisch und Mann ist mitten in Notting Hill Alles was man braucht ist sehr nah ,einkaufs Möglichkeit Supermarkt, Fastfood, Ubahn und Kaffees sind alle nur ein paar meter weg . All in all was unsere stay ein Erfolg, Mann darf keine große Erwartungen haben wenn Mann nach den Bildern geht aber der Nähe ans geschehen hat es plus punkte gewonnen, ein zweites Mal würden wir es nicht machen wollen.

Exactly as described in the hotel details - heritage hotel, so an old building with rooms on 5 floors but with no elevator. I knew that on booking, so no problem. Great location very close to Nottinghill Gate Tube station and Portobello Road market area. Easy access to central London. A lot of ordinary shops nearby for snacks and drinks - I never ate nearby so I don’t know about the local restaurants. I had a single room on the 5th floor. It was warm, quiet and cosy. Good bed, wifi and nice to have a window to open for fresh air. My only real issue was the weak to non existent water pressure for cold water. The hot water was great but without mixing with cold it was too hot to use straight away. Also, it meant the flush on the toilet was weak as well.

We enjoyed our family trip to London and the Abbey was the perfect hotel for our needs. It’s right near the Notting Hill tube stop which was very convenient. We also enjoyed the local pubs, restaurants and the Portobello Market. The hotel itself was a blend of old & new. Our family room was larger than anticipated and very comfortable. The best part of our hotel experience was the hospitality of Sarah at the front desk. She warmly welcomed us and provided superior service with spot on recommendations. Thank you!

Personalet var meget venlige og imødekommende. Værelset fungerede godt og virkede rent og pænt. Bad og toiletforholdene dejligt old-English. Sengene var lidt hårde. Det eneste minus var at gulvene knirkede meget fra alle sider, så man kunne blive vækket ved at dem ovenpå gik over gulvet. Vi nød opholdet da vi var meget ude og gå i Londons gader og opholdt os næste kun på værelset sent aften og om morgenen.

The young lady at reception was superb. I arrived early on check-in day, left my bag, and went out to do some things in London. When I came back in the afternoon, she had already taken my bag up to my room on the top floor (there’s no lift). She didn’t just give me a room number and a key, but walked all the way up to the room to show it to me.
