"the water coming out of the pipes smell terrible and I ask the staff and they told me that the water in the area has that issue. The towels smell pretty bad the building has been remodeled and looks good, but the issues with the water are too much, "

"We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Hormiga: it's well-located; the room was clean, spacious and beautifully decorated; the included breakfast was delicious and plentiful (and served by a great and friendly member of staff); the staff were always attentive to our requests and questions; and the option to swim in the lagoon at the hotel's partner bar, La Playita, between 8am-12pm before other tourists arrived was so incredibly appreciated and made it especially worthwhile. Also: the bakery/cafe opposite, Bamoa, (not affiliated with the hotel) offered some of the best food and drink we had in Bacalar. Recommended."
