"Overall, Pickering Casino Resort Hotel is a nice property with good amenities, but my experience did not match the level of service expected from a hotel of this rating. The pool and other amenities were good, although sometimes overcrowded and not well managed. Parking is large but quite far from the hotel, likely because of the busy casino. My biggest concern was the poor response from staff. I stayed for two nights in Room 1219, and on the day after check-in, construction or repair work was taking place directly beside my room near Room 1220. The banging was extremely loud and continued throughout the afternoon and evening until around 11 p.m., making it very difficult to stay in my room. I contacted staff several times requesting either a room change or that the work be stopped at a reasonable time, but received little response. I eventually had to go to the front desk myself. They told me they would speak with a manager and call my room, but I never received a call. Since I was staying on weekdays, I was especially disappointed that no room change or alternative arrangement was offered. The property itself is good, but customer service and handling of guest concerns need significant improvement."
