My problem started with Expedia. The ages of my children was processed wrong by Expedia and as a result I was charged an extra $975 for a second room which the hotel could not provide for me because they were fully booked. I figured no problem, Expedia will take care of me, I was wrong. So i paid almost $1000 for nothing!! I contacted Expedia for help but they told me too bad and it was not their problem. The resort also told me the same. Explorean is a nice place and Cozumel is wonderful but Expedia has absolutely awful customer support. Please be aware that if you encounter issues on your vacation you are on your own if you use Expedia. I will be using a local travel agent for future bookings. Thank you Expedia for NOTHING.

As first-time visitors from Canada to Cozumel and The Explorean, we spent 21 wonderful days there and truly cannot express how much we enjoyed our stay. Everything exceeded our expectations, and the staff, facilities, food, and impeccable cleanliness of the entire resort were all superb. What truly sets this hotel apart is the inclusion of a guided activity each day, such as cycling, dune buggy adventures, snorkeling, kayaking, beach outings, and historical museum visits, which puts the resort head and shoulders above others. The hardworking and courteous staff made an immediate and lasting impression. Gabriel and Edwin in the restaurant, Miguel at the pool, and Aaron at the beach provided exceptional service, while Ariel, Nestor, and Daniel, our knowledgeable and enthusiastic guides, made each activity especially memorable. My wife and I will most definitely be returning.

Though our overall rating is good there were some things that almost prompted an ok rating. Our stay was during a cooler week. The air conditioning could not be turned off because it is sensor activated whenever an outside door would open so we couldn’t use the warmer outside air to heat the room. The room never was warmer than 68 degrees and usually at 62 degrees. The excursions that were part of the package used bicycles that were old and difficult to ride and could not be adjusted for height differences. After the first short excursion with the bikes we knew we couldn’t go on the coastal, much longer excursion. There are no towel bars or even pegs to hang wet towels. And there are no chairs or desk height table in the room. Having said the above, the food, staff, location and cleanliness were all good.

The rooms were clean and beds were so very comfy. The staff was awesome. Daniel being someone who took very good care of us. Was disappointed in the food. There was never an amazing meal between the two resorts. Had to walk down the road for decent food.

Staff was amazing! Food was amazing! Stunning views! But, the place is dangerous. Too many steps and different levels and booby traps. I don't drink and I got injured multiple times. Unsteady rails. My daughter grabbed a rail and fell into the jungle. We told the Management about our injuries and they said, I'm sorry and made no effort to fix any of the problems.

Best thing about the resort is the staff. They are friendly and courteous. Loved having the excursions included. Room was clean, comfortable and well maintained. Food experience was excellent. It is nice to have access to the adjacent resort as most restaurants are on that side, you access the beach by the other property, and the pool is bigger there. It would be nice if Explorean was adults-only. Still an enjoyable vacation overall.

This was our second time staying at the Explorean Cozumel. We loved the entire resort. This time around we were excited that the pool had been redone. But the staff are amazing, Luis, Edwin, Gabriel to name a few. The truly made our stay wonderful. room are perfect and the serene atmosphere of the resort is perfect. Can't wait to go back again.

Food and drinks are really good. Everyone is friendly. The excursions were the best part of the stay. Only problem was we didn't have hot/warm water in our room for 4 days. We had mentioned it several times, however it took finding a manager and physically bringing him to the room to prove how cold the water was. They finally fixed it. Nothing was offered for the inconvenience so that was a little disappointing.

Staff was good at their sister hotel I think name was fiesta. Room was quite old, no TV, No coffee machine and in fact there was no pressure in the shower. Upon check-out when I complained, the answer was OK and that’s sit.

The staff was very attentive throughout our stay we enjoyed the natural landscape and the daily exploration offered such as nature preserve at the national park, scuba diving, buggy ride to the Atlantic side of the island. All were fun and well organized. The all inclusive made our stay easy and carefree
