"Overall, excellent choice for a hotel stay. The staff is friendly, and our room was cleaned everyday. The breakfast is decent and the hotel is clean. The location of the hotel is pretty good as well. It is minutes from Mission Beach and Sea World. Close to shopping and a few fast food restaurants. The reason for 4 stars is only because parking is not included with the room. It is $25/day. In my opinion, there is no good reason to charge for parking in their own lot."

"Although close to Old Town this place is tucked under the freeway. There is a reason it’s the cheapest room in SD. Room was clean, water was hot, bed was okay. Linens were bare minimum. Ice machine broken and property looks to be in various stages of repair/remodel. What one would expect for a cheap room, but keep expectations low. "

"It was okay for the 3 days we stayed. However our phone didnt work and and we didn't have a shower curtain and the pillows were hard as a rock. Things i could work around for 3 days. When going to the front desk to ask for a shower curtain i mentioned that we were on a time schedule but nobody came to give us one. I had to find a cleaning lady and she came right away. I also mentioned our phone didnt work to the front desk and the girl looked at me with a blank stare, no response. I asked a question to another girl about something else and she answered but no eye contact So all and all it was ok but staff (other then the cleaning lady) need much more customer service training. I wish i was a secret shopper lol. They would have failed!! "

"I was quite surprised at this property. The Fairfield Marriott was attractive and comfortable. The breakfast is very good and the price was right! The only drawback was to have to self park in a very tight tight underground garage which costs $30 a night. However, there is usually close by street parking at no cost."

"Website doesn’t tell you the rooms are so spread out, in different buildings. Not connected to the lobby. Felt more like a motel. We parked our car and went to the room from the outside. Rooms were good, clean but need upgrades "
