"The front desk staff is not very friendly at this hotel. We had a leak in our sink the first night of check-in and they did not even offer to change our room. I had to request the change and they did not even apologize for the inconvenience. The hotel needs a make over, everything felt old and dirtly."

"The staff were extemely nice, the hotel was pretty, accessible, and very clean. The free breakfast snacks were a plus. The only main concern was a lot of noise from the street, the window didnt really seal all the way and you could hear everything. They do provide ear plugs and at least you couldnt hear people next to you."

"Great property close to Times Square. Rooms are small with no fridge or microwave, but this is an old, historic, well-kept property that we would definitely return to. Get to know "Bobby the Doorman", he's been there for 47 years!! Breakfast at Friedman's was great."

"I’d give The New Yorker Hotel a 6/10 overall. The location and building itself are nice, but my experience ended on a frustrating note. I was charged a smoking fee even though I have never smoked in my life. Apparently their sensor was triggered by hairspray, which set it off and resulted in the charge. Now I’m stuck dealing with disputing a fee for something that simply didn’t happen. It’s honestly been a huge pain to deal with, and situations like this make the stay feel a lot less enjoyable. I understand hotels enforcing no-smoking policies, but charging such a large fee without properly verifying what actually triggered the sensor feels unfair. Because of that experience, I can’t rate my stay higher than a 6/10."
