This would have been a great stay, however, the food was not great, it was just okay but should have been better. The facility could've provided better guidance & suggestions regarding how to get to places around the property to maximize the stay (e.g. accessibility, shuttle service, and detailed map).

Although this is an "Adults Only" resort, be ready to deal with the obnoxiously drunk 17 to 20 year olds ruining the experience for the more mature crowds. And yes, we did confirm these kids ages. Shame on the parents and resort management allowing this to happen.....

Negatives: the beach was not good due to the sargassum weed problem. Luckily you have access to the other properties where you can find slightly better beaches but nothing great. Food at the buffet was really subpar. Literally the worse I’ve experienced in all the resorts I’ve been to. No quick food options poolside. Although we were ok with it, if you are into daily itinerary of entertainment, this is not the place for you. Another subpar aspect of this resort. Again, you have access to the other resorts and can go enjoy other activities there, but must take long walks or long shuttle rides which can be quite inconvenient. Pros: beautiful property. Huge pools. Expansive beaches. If you are in to rest and relaxation, this is the resort for you. Although the buffet is not very good, they make up for it with the great reservation only restaurants. Italian, French, Japanese and Mexican. The Mexican taco bar was excellent. Make sure to reserve a spot at all these restaurants nightly. You have Access to all the other resorts. They have a mall area with a casino, mini golf, bowling. Although it can be a bit time consuming you can explore the many other properties there.

I have to admit.. I might be spoiled... The only reason I went to Barcelo because of family reunion that family could afford. Upgraded to premium service. Half mile walk to the rooms. Your minibar is not was expected.. 1 bottle of local wine, 4 cans of Corona. Don't expect anything else. I specifically called and ask to deliver 6 cans of Modelo for extra charge. It was never done. What really pissed me off. Half an hour conversation with room service when I came back from casino... The guy was just a jerk. Keep saying that he can't deliver BEER to the room after midnight or exchange it. The beach at premium level was terrible. Little sand and suddenly sharp rocks. Drinks not delivered to the beach. Buffet is kind of OK, but really can't judge it. I just left the next day. The hotel staff had no idea. Conclusion: FU Barcelo.

This is hands down the best hotel in Riviera Maya when it comes to the beach and overall design both interior and exterior are absolutely stunning. The food is also very good, with the French restaurant being the standout on the property. Since this is an adults-only hotel, I expected a more vibrant nightlife. Unfortunately, that’s where it falls short. The entertainment is lacking and the atmosphere at night feels pretty dull compared to other adults-only resorts we’ve stayed at. It could really benefit from more exciting, sexy, and engaging nighttime experiences to bring the place to life after dark. Aside from that, everything else was exceptional I would still rate this hotel a solid 10/10.

We lived our Stay at the adults Only All inclusive! It gave us access to the other properties, there is a double decker bus that takes you to the other 5. Plenty of actives to do (escape room, mini golf, go carts). The property was very clean including the beach area. We really enjoyed our stay!

We really enjoyed this resort as adults sue to the quiet atmosphere and the pools are so big and nice. The extra large king beds (2 full size beds pushed together) were almost too big for us. I can only say nice things about ALL of the staff I encountered (which was a lot). We also had options for restaurants and things to do within the other resorts in the complex. I would highly recommend this resort to anybody considering a vacation to the Riviera Maya!!!

This was the best resort I have ever stayed at in Mexico! The service, cleanliness, and experience was amazing. The food was 10/10! The resort itself has every activity and excursion to offer. You basically don’t need to leave. I will definitely be back during my next visit!

No me gusto la calidad de las bebidas, muy pobre la calidad de las bebidas, alcohol de baja calidad. El dispensador del acondicionador pedimos que lo arreglaran y nunca lo hicieron. Los jabones para la regadera, dejaban unos de baja calidad y cuando les pedias uno, porque solo me dejaron uno para 7 dias, me dieronbuno de marca Loccitane, que es muy bueno, pero porque solo te lo dan si tu lo.pides? Algunos bartenders mal encarados, sino les gusta el jala dejen su lugar a otro que si le guste.

The resort on the Adults Only side is beautiful. What we were disappointed with is that staff was not friendly or helpful (specifically bell hops and wait staff at the pool). Check in took almost 2 hours. No food at the pool, no drink staff on the beach. Buffet closed at 6pm. Snack bars in both regular lobby and premier lobby were horrible.

Stayed for 4 days. Overall the place is pretty good, buffet is nothing spectacular. Went to 3/4 restaurants on the actual property. There is a strict dress code and they will not seat you without following it so keep that in mind. Everything but the Mexican restaurant I would recommend. The Italian and the hibachi were amazing. The air conditioning in the rooms were okay, not the best. The staff was amazingly friendly and the drinks were not watered down and fast to come out! The commute from the airport was a little rough, booked through MTX and honestly wouldn’t recommend due to how far away it is from the airport, a 1hr commute turned into 2 1/2 hours. The ride back to the airport after the stay though we didn’t have any problems. The pools were clean, rooms were cleaned daily.
