「Room was clean and functional although furniture was rather old fashioned - e.g. writing desks rather than any clothes drawers. Breakfast was excellent! Staff very friendly and helpful.」

「Friendly staff. Comfy beds. We had twin room only downside only had bath with handheld shower. There wasn't a curtain so had to sit in bath put shower over you which was difficult trying not to get water everywhere. Breakfast really good. I would stay here again.」

「The staff made the place, couldn’t do enough for us! Restaurant was 10/10. Rooms were so lovely, but didn’t have aircon. Having a toddler highlighted the bathroom floor and around the toilet needed a deep clean. Amazing stay though, will be back!」

Check-in plus the terrace bar were perfect - we used the terrace when we arrived and for an early morning coffee before breakfast, No room service or evening meals, but we’re didn’t need either. A huge range of eating options within 5-10 minutes walk. Apart from strolling around Rye, we also drove to Rye Harbour (free car park there) and walked to the Discovery Centre and the sea. Note that for the hotel car park you pay £10.00 per day and this needs to be done...

「Claverton staff, food, room and gardens all excellent. The functions on 2 nights in function room and beer garden below our room was noisy and therefore took edge off stay hence the 4 stars and would not return in the future.」

「The grounds are stunning with so much potential but it feels very much a work in progress. We used paddle boards on the lake, which was fab but an additional charge on top of a very expensive room. The sauna wasn’t quite up to heat, we stoked the wood burning hot tub for a dip, tried the lake to cool off and the cold plunge was unfortunately empty. The room was nice and clean. I booked the junior suite but ended up getting a suite. It didn’t feel any more special than a deluxe room elsewhere...
