"We got a "cottage" (really a small room connected to others), which included a small kitchen area with fridge, microwave and some utensils & plates. A little tight, but good AC, TV & bed; office area with Hawiian history displays and good free coffee in the morning; nicely tended grounds; good location for walking around Lahue; about a mile to beach, airport or Walmart. Friendly, helpful folks."
"We had the absolute best stay at the Koa Kea. We loved how the resort is on the smaller side, and you can easily walk out of your room and to the pool, beach, or to some nearby businesses (little fish, puka dog, surf shop..). The staff was super friendly and accommodating as well. I also loved being greeted with real leis, chocolate for our honeymoon, and wine in the room when we arrived! The pool bar had some yummy food, and good drinks. The sunrise yoga was fantastic as well. We stayed here for our honeymoon and actually preferred it to the first half of our trip, when we stayed at Hotel 1 Hanalei. Again, we loved how small and intimate Koa Kea felt, and it had a calm, relaxing vibe with mostly adults staying at the property. We already can't wait to come back again for an anniversary in the future."
"Amazing hotel almost like in White Lotus. We greatly enjoyed the lagoon. Hawaiian performances in the lobby throughout the day.
Poipu beach has many turtles at sun set."
Koloa Landing Resort at Poipu, Autograph Collection
10/10 Excellent
"All good, good service. I would love another restaurant option inside the resort, since this area of the island doesn’t offer too much options. They only have one restaurant by the pool, would be very nice to have another option and maybe the closing time be a little bit more late. Everything in the island closes at 9pm, I would love that the resort your staying offer you the option to have food available until 10pm for example.
Other than that the resort is beautiful!"
"Love the location in the calm bay next to Poipu beach. I wish I was able to get a better choice or understanding of the 1 bedroom room options, ensuring we were booking a room with a pullout sofa. The living area is smaller than I expected, with the bathroom more open into the kitchen living area. We were good not having a dining table to eat, but it would have been nicer to be just a little bigger. This was for myself and my two kids. The hospitality team was amazing and the grounds were kept very nice. We spent most of our time on the beach right at the resort, which made the location ideal for us."
"The Royal Sonesta Kaua'i has a beautiful property with a great pool and well-maintained grounds. The location is convenient, and the overall setting is relaxing.
Unfortunately, the service and attention to detail didn't match the price. Several of the in-room amenities were incomplete or empty, including the sewing kit and other convenience items, which made the room feel overlooked.
The biggest disappointment was the pool service. The security around the pool came across as overly aggressive at times, which took away from what should have been a relaxing experience. For a resort at this price point, I expected more attentive and welcoming customer service.
Overall, the hotel itself is attractive, but the quality of the amenities and customer service fell short of expectations. For what you pay, I expected a more polished experience with better attention to detail and a higher level of hospitality."
