Visit medieval cathedrals in a bustling city, relax on a sandy beach and take a tour of some of the world’s most celebrated vineyards. 

To experience city life, head for art-filled Florence. Walk in the footsteps of famous Renaissance masters such as Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo. Enjoy gelato while sitting in Piazzale Michelangelo, a square with stunning views of the city. Travel to Pisa to play with perspective while photographing the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

Explore medieval history in the charming town of Siena, where the main square, Il Campo, is a people-watching hotspot. Attend an evensong service in Siena’s Duomo, an ornate marble-floored cathedral. Try local white wine in the UNESCO-listed town of San Gimignano, famed for its centuries-old towers.

Take advantage of lovely coastal views at one of Tuscany’s picturesque beaches. The Pontile (pier) of Forte dei Marmi is a prime sunset-watching spot, while Mascagni Terrace in the village of Livorno offers beautiful water vistas. For more active coastal pursuits, ride a bicycle along the rocky coastline of Castiglioncello and visit the peninsula town of Talamone.

Fly into Pisa or Florence. Rent a car and drive along the A1 Autostrada highway from north to south through the region or use the reliable train service to hit all of the major cities. Regular ferry services run from the ports to the Tuscan islands.
