「Excellent location. Only issue was lack of food available on the second evening due to staff shortages. ( not really what you want to hear when you are hungry). The bathroom was lovely, however it was a little high to climb into the shower, bath and someone who was suffering with a bad a leg found it hard going, also getting out of the bath/shower there was no hand rail to support. 」

「Location is everything and the Feathers is right in the heart of the very lovely Helmsley. Room was very comfortable in an annex at the back of the property. The breakfast was very good, the chef can poach an egg properly which can often be a challenge. "Good: The hotel is well located and impressive in its public areas. All the staff are friendly and polite The breakfast is very good Not so good: The room itself was not too impressive. The room was stuffy, safe didn’t work, and the shower was a trickle. Overall location 10 out of 10 so if you are out and about exploring York all day and arriving/departing by train it would be good choice. If you want to relax in your room then I would recommend a different room category or another hotel. "
