「I reserved the historic city view option , and what I actually got was a view of the roof, the a/c units and maybe the view of the roof of ONE of the historic buildings. The staff was amazing, however for the price that we paid we should have gotten a discount since we didn’t get the view that we paid for. If you select a historic view option, make sure you are not in rooms 312, 310, or 308.」

「The staff is AMAZINGLY kind and welcoming. However, there is no breakfast so don't be fooled with Expedia portraying it as a hotel with breakfast. The do have coffee and juice around the clock. Lots in the area near by to walk to. Other guest was more of my issue than anything within the control of hotel. Fighting at 3AM was obnoxious. 」

「The room is clean, but the soundproofing is very poor—you can hear people chatting in the next room very clearly. Those who have trouble sleeping should be especially aware that the refrigerator is very loud. Since it’s a freezer model, there’s a loud gushing sound every ten or so seconds. Even if you unplug the refrigerator, the noise won’t stop immediately; it won’t stop until the freezer compartment returns to room temperature.」

「Hotel Lela is convenient and well maintained, but the staff were really the stars of our stay- we were welcomed warmly and each staff person we interacted with was pleasant and helpful. The double queen room is pretty spacious and even though we were facing Market St., the room was quiet and we slept like babies. I'll be staying at Hotel Lela when I'm in Wilmington going forward!」
