One of the best hotels if stayed in Japan and anywhere. Staff is great and rooms are spacious and clean. There are also several commodities for you to enjoy. Will definitely stay again.
Convenient too as it as across Nara Station. Easily accesible to many areas.

This is a 10 out of 10. The location at the edge of the forest is spectacular. The service is impeccable.
We are vegan and they accommodated us with
absolutely delicious meals. It is located just on the
outskirts of the Nara Deer Park where you are surrounded by a lovely forest ambience and yet you are just a short hike from the Park and its bustling surrounds. The trail just outside the Ryoken takes you
up the mountain. It is simply an awesome place!

The hotel and room were very clean and functional, the location was excellent, and all the staff were polite and attentive, making for a very comfortable stay.

The historically traditional architecture of the hotel is in itself worth a visit. The bathrooms could use updating, but like all other iconic hotels around the world, having the latest modern amenities takes second place to the sheer beauty and tradition of the place. I can't imagine staying anywhere else in NARA.

I thought a shukubo would be a very simple minimalist accommodation but it was a luxurious stay. A pleasant surprise.
Great staff and service, beautiful gardens, wonderful shojin meals, relaxing bath after our long hike, and a morning service in the main hall.
It was a perfect experience

The hotel was lovely. It needs some updating, but it was clean and quiet. The bed was very comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. Within walking distance of the hotel was a river lined with cherry blossom tree that was absolutely gorgeous! Highly recommend visiting in the spring time. Overall great hotel!

The advantage is that the accommodation is close to the train station, and a bus stop that is convenient for traveling to other tourist destinations is also nearby. The staff responded kindly, and the cleanliness of the accommodation was satisfactory. If I come to Nara again, I would like to stay at this hotel again.

Hotel is a short walk to the train station, very convenient. Staff were efficient, room was clean. There is a public onsen within the hotel. Only downside is the breakfast, just okay.
