"I stayed here for 8 days and it was such a pleasant experience. Meander 1948 was kind enough to offer a free guided tour with one of their amazing employees PJ (keep in mind to pay for your own transportation fares and meals expenses which is roughly under $500 TWD equivalent to just about $16 USD) along with the hotel company treating to a delicious fun dessert snack at the end of the tour. It all depends how much you want to drop as well, this is just a guesstimate combining expenditures for the day. The 8 bed dorm room was super comfortable. The lounging area is very peaceful and tranquil. You meet such cool amazing people in there that are traveling or studying abroad. It’s central to lots of fun and local spots. One of the night markets (Ningxia) is about a 10 min walk. The MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) is only a block or two away from the hostel. It’s just such a great location and super affordable. Highly recommended as a solo traveler. The Meander staff is super helpful and will provide any information to help in any way possible. Thanks Meander 1948. "Great location, clean room, friendly staff. You can spend the whole day in the mall next door, and never see the blazing sun between Taipei Main Station and Zhongshan Station just by traversing the underground malls. If I had to say anything, it's that the room itself is a bit dark, and has enough mirrors to make a mirror maze. Otherwise, great place to stay! "

"The room was clean and nice, it had everything I needed. I was able to check in early when I came at 2pm Even though their check in time is 5pm. The staffs were really friendly and helpful. The location was very convenient for us to get everywhere we wanted to go, close to the Taipei Main Station which really great. "

"Room was clean, staff was friendly, water and coffee/tea/snacks are a nice perk. Room is compact, but effective, again be careful with how much luggage you have. Shower was nice. No elevator, but a single floor (it's on the 2nd floor). Not too many steps, just be careful if you have a lot of luggage. Location is fantastic, MRT station just across the street, convenience store right downstairs, local night market starts across the street, Dihua street market walking distance, tons of restaurants walking distance, various clinics and pharmacies walking distance. If we stay again, would go with a windowless room as it did not add much to our stay. "
