"An amazing house with great volume, vaulted ceilings, 4 bedrooms and a private onsen bath. The house was beautiful, perfectly located near all the exciting restaurants and sights around Hakone. A perfect place to spend a few days and I wish we had more time to truly enjoy it fully. Lots of windows, a beautiful garden, gorgeous interior with wood paneling everywhere and some rooms with traditional tatami mats. Highly recommend !"

That’s a more authentic review if the food wasn’t actually a highlight for your family: We stayed at Shiunso Ryokan as a family with two young children and overall had a pleasant experience. The ryokan is definitely an older property and shows its age in some areas, but it has a traditional atmosphere that many travelers may appreciate. Loved loved loved! Wished I had booked this for the entire trip and probably will book again if I return. The home was thoughtfully curated and exactly as pictured. Very scenic drive and quiet neighborhood. Instructions were straightforward with check-in/route/guidelines and host was very responsive. Note: if you are using public transport and have more than a back pack, I suggest catching a ride from the drop off point to the home.

This is a perfect getaway in the mountains. Relaxing, quiet, private, clean and modern The photos don’t do this place justice. Shower, tub, and two separate toilets Two bedrooms And full kitchen with balcony. It is VERY modern with fully stocked kitchen supplies. TV, AC and heat and fans in each room. Great location. The management was very responsive too and knows English which we appreciated and found helpful.
