「Having been to Glenridding many many times, this is the first I’ve stayed at Fairlight Guesthouse. It won’t be the last! It was a lovely place to stay; great bedroom, comfy bed, powerful shower, onsite parking, lovely staff and good breakfast. 」

「Our room was on ground floor with a hot tub. Facilities were good and the bed was very comfortable. Some elements were a little tired. Staff were outstanding and responsive to all requests and questions. Nice dining area and presentation. Great central location to Grasmere village. Our only issue is that parking can be a lottery - but staff were happy to help.」

The “Welcome Pack” was a great and welcome surprise which is a definite plus compared to other rentals in this area. Master bedroom had a superb en suite plus a great view of Loughrigg Brow. 「High Ridge is perfectly situated right in the middle of Ambleside. However, it really does need some TLC. There are damp patches on the walls , the bed linen is rather questionable, & the window blinds are just simply dreadful . They let light in, don’t work properly & are very tatty indeed. The furnishings are of poor quality & there are just far too many dreadful pictures on the walls. The kitchen & bathroom are good but the rest of the property needs a jolly good face lift . 「This is a decent place to stay if you go in with expectations in check. It’s roomy and cozy, with conveniences like a washer/dryer, dishwasher, stove/oven/microwave, and some cooking equipment. Lighting is good, lots of outlets is a plus. Internet functions fine, don’t expect blazing speed but certainly adequate. Easy access to dumpsters/recycling is also great. Local area is cute and walkable, convenient if small town shopping is your bag. Be aware parking is tight if you have a larger...
