"We stayed at The Menger Hotel Excellent location, beautiful hotel, nice rooms. The hotel has a beautiful bar, restaurants, very helpful, kind staff. River Center Mall is steps away with a starbucks if you’re looking for a coffee or tea. There are a lot of stores and Several dining places. Then the Riverwalk is a staircase away! If you prefer, you can go out of the Lobby doors to the Alamo Plaza! The Alamo is to your right, and if you go to your left to the street, then right, past the McDonalds, go down the stairs- you’ll be at the Riverwalk! "

"This is a historic building. We arrived early and the staff gave us zero grief about holding our bags until it was time to check in. We also checked out and wanted to explore before we caught our plane home. Once again… zero grief. The rooms are in need of some minor repairs and paint touch ups. I did enjoy having a fridge in the room. I would stay here again!! "

"Great staff, with quick checkin and checkout. Free open lot parking onsite. Surprisingly good hot breakfast. short walk to marketplace, Riverwalk, other attractions."

"I checked in on a Saturday night. When I pulled up I could see the parking lot and lobby was extremely busy and didn’t really feel like dealing with it after a long drive. After I parked the car, I stood in line for about 10 minutes. When I approached the front desk clerk, I commented that I hope they didn’t give my room away. She assured me that they still had a room for me and was very nice with all the check in process.she also provided me with a free drink from the bar. The room was very clean. I don’t like that parking has to be paid for, but I don’t think it’s the fault of the hotel. I’m thinking it’s a city thing."
