It was a tradition Japanese place, public baths that were spotless and cozy, got kimonos for our stay and inside house slippers, the meals were unique and intricate. "This is one of the best hotels in Nara I would say - perfect location (very close to JR but quiet), nice and helpful staff, free amenities and drip coffee - quality is good, hot spring is small but clean and neat, very clean room, inexpensive when the quality is so high! I am so happy to have stayed here. Would definite come back when I visit Nara again."

"My girlfriend and I had an unforgettable stay at Sarusawaike Yoshidaya in Nara. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was unmatched. We were greeted by Takada, who immediately offered us a beverage and made us feel genuinely welcome. He went above and beyond for us throughout our stay, including calling multiple local restaurants to secure us a dinner reservation at a spot loved by locals. Special shout-out to Takada for his warmth, professionalism, and incredible service. He truly made our stay exceptional. After spending two weeks in Japan and staying at five different hotels, this was the one that truly stood out. The private onsen experience was amazing, the rooms were spotless, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. The sunset view of the pond from our room was absolutely unforgettable. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced customer service this thoughtful and attentive in my life. We’ll be recommending Sarusawaike Yoshidaya to anyone visiting Nara."

"First time at a Ryokan. Wonderful experience from when we first arrived until we left. Room was beautiful and private onsen was luxurious, we spent a lot of time there! 100% get the Breakfast and dinner package, it was such a unique experience with lovely traditional meals and it was very large portion for 2 people. They also provided a lot of free amenities that we could take home with us including photographs and a traditional pouch/bag. i would definitely recommend this Ryokan to anyone planning to visit Nara."
