It was a tradition Japanese place, public baths that were spotless and cozy, got kimonos for our stay and inside house slippers, the meals were unique and intricate. "This is one of the best hotels in Nara I would say - perfect location (very close to JR but quiet), nice and helpful staff, free amenities and drip coffee - quality is good, hot spring is small but clean and neat, very clean room, inexpensive when the quality is so high! "Thank you very much for a wonderful stay at this idyllic Ryokan in the heart of Nara forest! The service was sublime. The two hostesses who welcomed me and served my exquisite Japanese meals were wonderful. The whole unit is detached, containing as it does a spacious tatami room, where meals were served, large bedroom with two large Western-style beds, an excellent bathroom with traditional stool, bucket and shower and a very deep bath, already drawn and ready to bathe in. This room had the most delightful pine aroma. Next door was a small WC with the most hi-tech Japanese toilet one could imagine. The lid raises as soon as you approach it. It has the usual bidet functions, but with added pulse option and dryer. It self-cleans and even lights up. The staff leant me a lovely yukata and obi. The mini bar was well stocked and everything was included in the price. The amenities were out of this world. Although expensive, the experience more than justified the cost. Thank you so much for an unforgettable experience."

"My girlfriend and I had an unforgettable stay at Sarusawaike Yoshidaya in Nara. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was unmatched. We were greeted by Takada, who immediately offered us a beverage and made us feel genuinely welcome. He went above and beyond for us throughout our stay, including calling multiple local restaurants to secure us a dinner reservation at a spot loved by locals. Special shout-out to Takada for his warmth, professionalism, and incredible service. He truly made our stay exceptional. After spending two weeks in Japan and staying at five different hotels, this was the one that truly stood out. The private onsen experience was amazing, the rooms were spotless, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. The sunset view of the pond from our room was absolutely unforgettable. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced customer service this thoughtful and attentive in my life. We’ll be recommending Sarusawaike Yoshidaya to anyone visiting Nara."
