"I did not use various amenities at the hotel but I found my room to be very nice, very clean, everything seemed updated fairly recently and it was much nicer than a couple of other rooms I had stayed in along my travels this spring. The check-in clerk was especially nice and friendly."

"The staff was great. We chose this hotel because of previous experience at another one of their locations. However, the bed was too firm and uncomfortable. Unlike their other location, we did not sleep well here. They are currently in the process of repainting/remodeling, so for anyone planning a stay here soon, be prepared to see construction materials and to smell paint. "

"We stayed at the Shelby Inn overnight Easter Sunday night, after a day of fishing at the lake spillway. The Inn looks to be a mansion in pictures, but it is also what might have been an upgraded 1950s single floor motor lodge, as well as a two story lodging building next door. Our king room was in the 2 story building, on the top floor. On the day of our arrival, we got the assigned room number and an access code for the door. The room was well appointed, spacious with a two-seater table and chairs, dish TV,, the shower had a rainfall shower head, and dispensers for private brand shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Everything was very clean and welcoming. Parking was off street, open parking lot betwren the buildings. It was 40° and 30 mph winds, so we didn't have any concern about air conditioning, but the heat was very effective and warmed us right up. When we come back to Shelbyville, we will definitely be staying here. (Since we were in town on Easter Sunday and didn't get back to town from the spillway until after 8:00, there wasn't much beyond fast food that was still open. I can definitely recommend Oliver Coffee, a neat little drive-thru-only coffee shop that we visited Monday am,, and heard great things from others about the Lakeview Family Restaurant.)"

"The pool was "broken". The sheets and towels were stained. The room and bathroom needed to be painted because of all the spots of ??? on the walls. The breakfast was a joke! No juice, 2 pieces of sausage, milk was watered down. I would never stay there again."

"Breakfast lacks options and quality. We’ve been staying here for years. The breakfast used to be good. It’s terrible now. I’m looking for another comparable hotel in the area. It’s too bad because the staff here is great. "

"This location was fine for a 1-night stay, passing through on our trip from Florida back to Wisconsin. We had our golden retriever with us, and I like this chain for the fact that their rooms are not carpeted, especially if they accept all pets. The flooring was in rough condition, along with the fixtures in the room. There was a family with children next to us who were quite loud, but they quieted at a reasonable hour, and the area was then quite peaceful through the night, despite being surrounded by other hotels and restaurants. There was a heavy "smoke" odor coming through the bathroom fan/vent in the evening, which had dissipated by morning. There was also a large, overflowing garbage can almost right outside our room. It is an easy off/on from the highway, and we highly reccomend the Pizza Man just a few blocks away. Check-in & check-out were quick - we booked through Hotels.com. This is more or less a "you get what you pay for" situation, but, overall, it served our purposes. "
