The building is old, but the facility is acceptable, the room is clean, although I did saw some bugs is at the outside frame of the window, which is understandable, because it is a country side area. The dining place around the area close really early, so the only choice is convenience store like Lawson and Scicomart.

Breakfast was nice and started early which I appreciate. The location was convenient for Jozankei, however, if you're not there for Onsen's there isnt a whole lot to see or do other than a short river walk. Our room smelled like cigarette smoke and was pretty off putting, the rest of the property was fine although a little dated.

Transportation issues affected our stay
Our trip got off to a bad start when the hotel staff informed me that the free hotel shuttle bus to Sapporo was already fully booked 2 days in advance - leaving us no way to get back to Sapporo (the private bus was booked as well). So instead of checking in and relaxing we spent the rest of the day having to change our flight and following hotels because of the delay. The hotel should have made it abundantly clear that the free shuttle is low capacity and books quickly. They were jot very helpful with providing alternate travel options. The rest of the stay was obviously affected by the level of stress that caused. The onsen was very nice though and had a great outdoor area looking at the mountains. The staff was friendly, and the rooms were small and older but comfortable. The futon could have had a bit more padding and I didn’t sleep that great.

website wroted every days 10am have a free bus down to sapporo city but it was not e true e bus is only for guest check out n public transport it take more then 100 min no matter it was in e morning or night after 9pm. If peaks hrs it tk more than 2 hrs reached sapporo st. So guys pls don't believed wht e hotel wrote on e site.

Highly recommended
My first experience in Jozankei was wonderful, one night was never enough. Tatami room was cozy with wonderful view. Many onsens inside the hotel were great, esp.outdoor and foot onsen outdoor. Even the hotel is a bit dated, the hotel is big. So it was not irritating at all. Location is great as well.

My room at the hotel was not good one because I could not see outside of Jozankei mountains and liver. I could only see the walls of the hotel. It was my 4th times to stay at the hotel, but this year's visit was very bad.

Good facility, good location.
It’s a very good hotel, which probably has seen better days but still comfortable and fascinating. The buffet offers good quality food and decent variety, and the Onsen is very well kept. I wish my room was a non smoking one: even though it was very clean, I could still smell the nicotine at night, and that bothers me.

It was a nice vacation at the Hotel Milione for me because foods at the Buffet were very good and Hot spring was clean and enjoy to relax in the morning and evening. I will visit the Milione again some time in next year.

Hotel beautiful, location not so great
The hotel is beautiful inside with lots of facilities. It felt very casual as guests had dinner in the kimonos and robes provided in the rooms which was really comfortable. We were able to walk 5 minutes down the road and see the beautiful light show and a fire dance amongst the snow. We enjoyed our stay in the hotel. Language barrier was mostly fine but not much was displayed in English. We had to guess what we were eating (which wasn't too hard but would have been nice) and when we went to take the shuttle bus it proved very difficult. The location is the downfall of the hotel as there wasn't too much to do. We discussed multiple times with different staff members the times of the shuttle bus the hotel provides but still weren't able to take it. The shuttle leaves once in the morning and returns once in the afternoon and MUST be reserved which we didnt know. If you did manage to take the shuttle it didnt give you much time to do anything in Sapporo anyways. The local bus is very tiresome going into Sapparo (a long 1.45hr trip with lots of stops and very crowded). turns out some of the local buses need to be reserved aswell but sell out quickly as it appeared to be the only local transport out of the place. We also tried to take a taxi (being fed up with the bus), it took half an hour for the taxi to arrive, and the quoted price was very underestimated which was disappointing.

This is a traditional Japanese hotel, so you pay a lot of money to end up sleeping on a futon. The bathroom was small and had hair in the tub that was not mine. The staff seemed annoyed to be dealing with someone who did not speak Japanese and made no attempt to be helpful.

Hotel did not reply to our email to book shuttle bus from Sapporo to Hotel. We were given a smoking room which we felt uncomfortable in. The onsen was just ok. But the breakfast and dinner was wonderful, and there is a shop for you to buy things at the lobby. It was great they provide free shuttle to and from Sapporo, but I wish they could confirm the booking via email as well. I had to get someone to call them to make and confirm my booking.

Don't expect any help from staff.
Hotel was great. Food was good. Our Son's blanket was taken assuming with the laundry as we came back after the second day and it was missing. We contacted the front desk multiple times during the remainder of our stay and after leaving the hotel and were told every time that the note describing the blanket and our contact info was thrown away and had to give it to them again each time. No help with searching by talking to the cleaning staff or the laundry services. If there had been some effort to help locate the blanket that would have really made a difference.

Good nice gateway hotel.
We drove from Sapporo and it's a bit far from the airport on the way back. Hotel staff at the reception was very welcomed so it's a plus. The hotel is outdated, wifi only available in lobby area and the onsen in the hotel is just so so. It's just ok for a taste of Japanese onsen culture. Our package was included dinner and breakfast buffet and the food is just OK food. The restaurant was very busy as many tour groups came. The highlight was the snow around this area was fantastic and driving in white tick snow road was an amazing experience.

Arrived in the free hotel shuttle from Sapporo station and was greeted by all hotel staff at reception. Feel very welcomed. This makes up for the rather old furnishings. The onsen in the hotel is rather small as compared to those in Korea, China etc. Just for a taste of Japanese onsen culture. Food is OK but because it handles many tour groups, the service level there was more like a factory. Remember to take a walk behind the hotel and explore the mini Onsen town! The snow here is fantastic!

Getaway from city, but busy hotel
Very big and imposing hotel with spacious but old rooms (furniture, carpets,etc...). The Onsen is very big and spacious but somehow the whole feels a little to impersonal. Very good for families as all necessary equipment is provided in restaurant, Onsen, etc...Around the hotel: a nice little walk in the "village" with spots for foot baths and possible hike to top of Mount.

Very good experience of a Japanese Onsen
Very happy with the hotel facilities and breakfast, dinner buffet. Have tried 2 other onsen bath hotels in Japan, this is the best. Definitely recommend to anyone wants to try a traditional Japanese hot springs (onsen).

I've stayed in millione 2 nights, it was a great stay. It has nice big onsen and you could use itu anytime. Nice breakfast and dinner. But their internet wasn't suitable for business man because only available in public areas.

Avoid if you like Onsen but have a tattoo.
The hotel is looking a little dated but the rooms (I had a twin western style) are large by Japanese standards. Some of the furniture had peeling veneer. There is no LAN or wi-fi in the rooms, so you need to go to the lobby if you need to connect. The food was average with a reasonable selection on the buffet. You have to pay extra for soft drinks, only tea and water are part of the package. The service is up the high Japanese standard. If you have a room on the front there is road noise which can be annoying. Now for my major complaint. They now discriminate people with tattoos, placed a blanket ban on all that have them and do not allow them into the Onsen (there are signs in the lobby and Onsen entrance, I felt socially unclean). I have stayed at the hotel in the past and not had an issue which is why I booked it again this time. It was not mentioned on the Hotels.com page for the hotel so I feel I have wasted my time and money going there. I will not go again.

Hotel in Jozankei hotspring area
I wanted to let my three kids experience what a hotspring is like, and started planning a trip to Hokkaido half a year ago. We initially wanted to try out Niseko, because the reviews were good, but I later found that it would be difficult to connect easily from Chitose Airport to Niseko. In the end, we opted to stay two nights in Sapporo, take a bus to Jozankei, and stay two nights there. We were not disappointed. We enjoyed building snowmen in the day, and soaking in the hotsprings in the evening. In fact, the kids love the hotspring so much that we went for a dip just before we check out of the hotel!
