The front desk man was very nice and helpful, even gave me my refund when I left early. The walk up to it is so sketchy I felt very unsafe outside. However there were roaches downstairs in the kitchen and the sheets made me itch the bathrooms were gross and shared with everyone on that floor and don't have curtains and you can see right into the next buildings. I had things stolen from my stuff and I had it locked. There's only 3 lockers in a room of 6 ppl. And the whole room stank, all in all my first hostel experience is terrible I left after one night.

I would give this 0 stars if I could. Upon arrival the property was filled with homeless people. The property is in a very bad area of San Francisco and the pictures are out of date and misleading. The property smelled of urine and feces and the rooms were dirty. There was black dirt and debris all over the bed. You were provided a fitted sheet to put on yourself - over the unwashed and absolutely filthy mattress cover. You are provided one towel to reuse throughout your stay. The bathrooms were disgusting and hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. The doors lock but people can go in and out of the room at all hours of the night - with homeless people lurking around. The kitchen and communal areas were dirty and full of bugs and rodents. The front staff was rude and refused to provide a refund (after saying they would refund through Expedia)

If you're looking for a clean, affordable, and well-managed place in an expensive city, this hostel is an excellent choice. The location is convenient, with easy access to public transportation, restaurants, grocery stores, and many of San Francisco's popular attractions. The highlight of my stay was Nick, the Front Desk Manager. He is one of the most professional, hardworking, and helpful hostel managers I have ever met. From check-in to check-out, he made sure every guest was well informed and comfortable. He is patient, respectful, and always willing to answer questions or help with directions, local recommendations, and any concerns that arise. Even during busy periods, he remains calm, organized, and treats every guest with kindness and professionalism. The hostel itself offers good value for money. The rooms are comfortable, the shared facilities are cleaned regularly, and the common areas are well maintained. For budget travelers, backpackers, students, and anyone visiting San Francisco without spending a fortune on accommodation, this is a great option.

The staff were rude and mean. They did not accept my son’s legal id from the state of Vermont until I got the police and Expedia involved. When we extended our reservation they refused to recognize it saying my son’s dad was not on the reservation (he was). They cancelled our reservation and said they are refunding our $ which I have not seen yet. I had to get Expedia involved again over this. A huge waste of time for a small, ill equipped dump.
