"The room was a basic room - clean, but nothing special. The reason for fewer stars is the cost of the room does not match what should be provided. You know the saying “you get what you pay for” - well, in this case you pay but don’t get a whole lot. Over $300 a night and another almost $50 a night for parking. It is what it is…,"

"Inside, the staff is very helpful and accommodating without being invasive. The rooms are peculiarly engineered, so make sure that you know what you are about to spend the night in. I think the room that I rented for two nights is made for single travelers or a close couple because I was in a sky cabin and the first thing that I notice when I walk into the room was just a stand-alone toilet. No doors or walls separating the toilet from the main cabin area, so make sure you are ultra comfortable with your cabin-mate in very close quarters. Then you climb a steep spiral ladder/staircase to the loft sleeping cubby, with a once-smart tv at the foot of the bed. If you are claustrophobic, I would look for a different floor plan but if you don’t mind, it’s a fun and futuristic theme. Everything about the hotel is great in that it’s very quick and easy check-in, resembling checking in at the airport or at a tech conference or something. The cabins are designed to resemble air travel cabins and are designed to feature minimalist and space-saving utility. If you’ve ever seen that show “tiny house hunters” and how everything is engineered to make the most out of tiny spaces, then you get the idea of what the cabins are like on the inside. The water and ice machine on each floor has the best crunchy ice you’ve ever had at a hotel. Check out 2nd floor Mission Cntrl!"

"I have been waiting for this pool to open for nearly a year. Keep bringing a bath suit bc they say it’s either open or will be open by the 3/6. Didn’t happen. No snacks and restaurants close early in the area. Also restaurants are extremely expensive. "

"Just far enough from the rougher parts of town but ideal location to see most of what you’d want for walking around. The staff were great, very personable and friendly. Not haunted either. "

"I’m hoping someone reads this review because I wish I had read reviews before booking. First, this hotel is not affiliated with Embassy Suites. That’s what I assumed when I booked, but it’s actually a completely separate hotel called The Embassy. It’s located in the Tenderloin District, one of the rougher areas of San Francisco. The location was not clearly advertised when booking, and if you’re a solo female traveler, I would strongly recommend avoiding this area. They even lock the front entrance door, so at times you have to ring a bell to be let in. That alone should tell you how rough the neighborhood can be. To be fair, the towels and linens were clean and the staff was friendly, but the hotel itself is very dated and worn. The building has an old charm, but the moment we walked into our room it smelled like cigarette smoke, even though it’s supposed to be smoke-free. We had to notify management.There is no air conditioning, only an old furnace system that may or may not work. Luckily San Francisco weather is cool, so opening the window helped, but the street noise is loud, which may bother some guests. Also, the photos on Expedia are heavily filtered and misleading compared to the actual condition of the hotel.Amenities are minimal, only a small fridge, no real extras, and the TV isn’t Bluetooth enabled. If you just need a cheap place to sleep, it may be fine. But if you prefer cleaner, more modern accommodations or are traveling alone, I’d recommend staying elsewhere."

"The parking situation is ridiculous. They expected me to park on some side street by the hotel where a bunch of homeless people were bent over on fentanyl with their butts out. Then they expected me to allow somebody to drive my car down the street to the parking garage. That is not going to happen. I asked if I could just drive my car to the parking garage and the front desk guys said oh you have to come and check in first and then he said I couldn’t do it and then he sent me to some other garage so then I parked at some of the parking garage at a different hotel when I’m not sure why I couldn’t drive my car to the parking garage myself and just walk back to the hotel. It’s hard to communicate at the front desk when I think it’s gonna be a simple process. Hand the guest a paper that says these are the list of parking garage that you can go to and this is the parking garage that we can build your hotel room these are the addresses. It shouldn’t be so damn difficult. This place is awful. And the rooms are super small."
